Sometimes one finds stories at the most unexpected times. Like leaving Celebrate Brooklyn last night, for instance. That’s when we scored the Whole Foods Brooklyn tote bag pictured above. Note that it says “Opening 2008.” The Whole Foods bag promoting the store that is going to be built on the environmentally-questionable lot at Third Street and Third Avenue in Gowanus was given to people that had attended the opening party for Celebrate Brooklyn. The goodie bag also contained a Celebrate Brooklyn t-shirt, organic dog biscuits, a little bottle of Starbucks coffee booze and other items.

Sweet. Hopefully they’ll be giving away a few more of those this season.

I’m always suspicious of those projected opening dates, but the bag looks nice. Gotta get one.

So this would have been the goody bag for the folks who paid $300. and up to attend the opening night Celebrate Brooklyn benefit? LL Bean will sell you several bags of this type, without advertising for a market being built on a toxic dump, for that amount.
Wonder if the Union Rat got one.
