Park Slope Playground Fun: “Wet N Wild Gyrating Nanny”

Wet and Wild Nanny

It sounds like somebody has a very, uh, hot nanny in Park Slope. This story is making the rounds. It originally appeared on I Saw Your Nanny and now is the subject of a Brooklynian thread. Let’s just say there are many people who would have like to have seen this performance at Harmony Playground in Prospect Park earlier in the week. The nanny was loud, tossing bottled water, “dancing wildly” and (oh Dear God) “using hip intonation.” Hip intonations!!! Here is the original description of the, er, incident:

Your nanny was playing very aggressively with your daughter today and encouraging the other children to play along. The nanny was splashing herself with her water bottle and splaying sprinkles of water on the other children at Harmony Playground. The nanny was also dancing very wildly and using a lot of hip intonations that made me uncomfortable. Not at all appropriate to be showing a five year old how to gyrate and dance like a nincompoop all around a public park.

Your daughter has frizzy, brown hair is very thin and was wearing a red halter with white flowers on it and a pair of denim shorts that had a reddish tint to them. The nanny was wearing a white baseball viser, a white T-shirt that said “Dunlop” and a pair of blue jeans that were rolled up to her shins. The nanny was holding her leather, brown sandals. The nanny was wild about her music, but was on many people’s last nerve. The nanny spoke as if from the Caribbean Islands, had thick, dark hair that was neatly coiffed and big, wide set eyes. We were away from the water fountains and sprinklers, so it was very annoying when nanny went wild with her water bottle. Maybe your daughter was having a down day and nanny was trying to cheer her. Maybe. I’m trying to be fair, but nanny wasn’t very fair to the people in her immediate area of the park.

*I just want to add that nanny was singing a song about a lolly pop and doing inappropriate moves to the song. She was mouthing “like me like a lollipop” as she sang, but to these little girls. Do you want your girls singing and dancing like that? They are 5ish, not 15!

One comment adds the following detail about our nanny:

I saw the nanny but I didn’t realize she was a nanny. I wasn’t close enough to hear anything specific. I could tell that she was loud. At first I thought it was an argument in process and when I looked over and saw this woman who was probably in her late 30’s, flopping all around, I thought she was a “special” person.

I don’t think she was a nanny. I looked at the mothers watching her and their faces were kind of frozen and scared, but like they were trying to be polite. The song, which I could not hear, does not sound appropriate but I don’t think this person knew any better and fortunately the moms and children around her were really tolerant of her differences.

Interesting.

typical comment from yet Another uptight park sloper. THE WORLD DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND YOU AND YOUR BABY CARRIAGE . if you are offended by someone dancing then YOU go away, don’t make them stop. why is that so hard to fathom.

This story is supposed to be a joke, right? If so — not that funny.

YOU sound like a stalker with that detailed description of the kid, I would report you as a pedophile.

why do you have to be so jealous of parents who live in park slope? Yes we have nice houses and a beautiful park, so what’s wrong with us being defensive over it?

What’s so funny is the parents just stood/sat there and did nothing about it. For all we know, there was a hidden camera somewhere taping your reactions and reluctance to intercede and some college students are performing a behavioral study for a research project. Hey, if something bothers you and the people around you, speak up, especially if it’s in a public place. If she was sitting next to you and your kid and smoking, wouldn’t you have said something?

My dear, YOU don’t have a park; the citizens of the entire borough do.

oh no…someone was dancing. my god! call the police. probably because she’s hot and she feels good about herself and its a good song. You fat slobby pig. Leave people the F*CK ALONE! Our nanny is from a different culture and we love that she teaches our daughter to dance. Your daughter will be so sheltered she’ll be one of those anal virgins thats sucks all the guys c8cks in 8th grade because her parents were so freaky
