Christmas decorations are popping up all over the place. This boat, which is docked on the Gowanus Canal between the Carroll Street Bridge and the Union Street Bridge, is now decked out in lights. (For our latest Gowanus Canal Brookvid, click here.) We’re assuming the festive touch on the Big G is holiday lighting. At least, we haven’t previously noticed this vessel lit up this year. Makes the old Gowanus look a little like Amsterdam. Now, if only the city would install little lights around the three bridges.

Beautiful. The sloop is called Fat Cat. Has docked in the GC in the past, and normally stays a while, also because it is a bit of en endeavor to get the city raise the basculating bridge. The good thing about docking there is that probably the pollution will clean the bottom of the boat for free. How do we get in touch with Fat Cat?
