1) Red Bowl, a Chinese restaurant at 208 Bedford Avenue, (above) appears to be making serious progress toward an opening soon. How did we guess? Must be the prominent signage that has been put up. One hopes that it fares better than the last Chinese/Asian attempt a couple of doors down, which seemed to last about two weeks before being shuttered and reemerging as Wild Ginger. Its identity has been known for some time, as our friends at Eater did a Plywood Report on it back in April. Still a lot of plywood to be found.
2) Greenhouse Essentials, which bills itself as offering “essential living products” is open at 217 N. 7th Street in Williamsburg (below). The signage (it wasn’t open when we passed by) says it offers skin care products, feng shui textiles, organic facial products including the Eminence line, books, CDs and “MUCH MORE.”It’s across the street from construction site of The Modern, so the feng shui and Zen vibe could come in handy for now.
