GL’s Construction Site Du Jour: Green Living Update
We’ve had our fun with this construction site, which we’ve dubbed
Urban Death because of the questionable way in which it has been secured. And, truth be told, even though it’s improved, we simply can’t understand why there’s still a big gap in the fence and why they refuse to close it completely. On the other hand, there have been plenty of violations for a lot of other things, including a
partial Stop Work Order than remains in effect. Work is allowed to shore up
a sidewalk that we featured a few weeks ago that seemed to be potentially a tad dangerous to people. Oddly, the site has been excavated, somewhat filled in and, now, appears to have been, uh, excavated a bit again. It’s also had some issues in terms of undermining a neighboring building. So far, the site has logged
19 complaints and
13 violations (including at least one for leaving the gate open). Several of the violations have been dismissed. Anyway, is that
a pile driver on the property?
