While the members of the Coney Island Polar Bears Club take dips in the water at Coney Island all winter long, the annual New Year’s Day swim is the one that attracts swarms of coverage and generates tons of photos. For the record, the water temperature was 42 degrees. There were 300 swimmers and they raised an estimated $30,000 for Camp Sunshine. Here are some stories and flickr sets below:
