This is the new frozen yogurt shop on Seventh Avenue in Park Slope near Union Street. It has been known in its permit paperwork as Yogo Monster, although we’ll have to wait for signs to go up to know for sure. In any case, the exterior definitely has an Oko/Pinkberryish look and here’s a peek at the interior below. Looks like we’re closing in an opening just in time for the weather to be more conducive to eating frozen yogurt type things.

This looks more like the entrance to a spa of some kind. Why do they have to take the fun out of desert? Oh well, more pretentiousness, why am I surprised. I hope they feel very elegant. But how elegant does a frozen yogurt place need to be? I guess frozen yogurt is SERIOUS BUSINESS in 2008! One thing is good though, it looks a lot larger than the Hagen Daz on 7th, which I don’t even try to fit myself into anymore, especially afterschool on a Friday.

Ya know what I wish? That we could transport Hinsch’s or another old-fashioned soda-fountain/ice cream parlor, with booths in back and woodwork up front, into the heart of Park Slope. Jahns in Richmond Hill just bit the dust–maybe transport it here like Rockefeller did with the Cloisters. It would be a license to print money, especially with some canny marketing and party rental space in back–retro, “real simple,” etc. Where is the Ice Cream Visionary??!

Great, another frozen yogurt place. Perfect for when I go the bank and then browse the windows of the real estate offices.

I hear you, j$! The sign is up and it is in fact Yogo Monster, but with three dots over the “o” in Monster. I guess an umlaut wasn’t quite enough to convey the authenticity of this frozen yogurt experience. I suspect it will be overpriced and served by underpaid and surly staff and eventually go the way of Maggie Moo’s.

So much hate for even the littlest things in the slope. There’s a delivery service I can recommend.

GREAT!
It is about time we have good desert in this town.
I can’t wait for it to open.
My friends and I love frozen yogurt
and the place looks very nice.
I hate to eat in run down and dirty places.
