Today is the Park Slope Parents Sixth anniversary and they are celebrating and also pointing to a PSP thread from several years ago about swinging. Meanwhile, earlier today, Racked had an angry rant from a Sloper who took a $14 cab ride and found the Red Hook Ikea to be out of the crib she wanted, saying “big. f*cking. whoop.” to the manager’s offer to call when they’re back in stock. The angry mom writes, in part:
So, one $14 cab ride later, not only is the crib not in stock, it’s not in stock in the entire tri-state area. Nor were almost all the other cribs. And you can’t order or reserve one, you have to just come back in two weeks and try your luck. I complained to the manager, who said all he could offer to do would be to call me when they come in (big. f*cking. whoop.). Their customer service is crap, but that’s one way to keep prices low I suppose!
A responding email suggested “if there is a next time, instead of taking a $14 cab ride, they do have a free shuttle bus that will take you to their store” and continued that “I think the manager offering to call you when it does come in was very nice and don’t see the reason for your “big f…… whoop” comment…” So, was it a Hack, a Gulliver or a Leksvik?

What a whiner. Who cares how much she spent on a cab ride? Public transportation costs $2. Does she care how much the manager spent on how much s/he spent to get to work just to deal with irate, spoiled customers such as herself? Doubt it. She should:
1. Cry a river
2. Build a bridge
3. Get over it

You can check the availability of stock at Ikea on the website. I think this person is pathetic! Gimme a break! This is why the Park Slope moms and dads w/the strollers get such bad press.

Hey Gowanus Lounge!
Despite the protests and requests of your readers, every few days brings an absurd complaint from someone in Park Slope or therein. Lately, the stories are becoming almost surreal. Will the next complaint be about the rain and that there aren’t enough awnings? Someone had an affair and thinks their spouse is being spiteful for divorcing them? Someone had a baby and complains he cries all the time?
Am I making these absurd enough, because I’m pretty sure one will be tomorrow’s diatribe du jour?
Can you at least respond to your readers and explain your fascination with these diatribes? Do they bring in readers? Are we secretly passing these stories on more than others, even as we bemoan them? (And yes, I passed on the ticket story because it was so off the chart bananas).
Personally, I think that featuring these stories only gives strength to the media’s misconceptions that Brooklyn has become a population of coddled malcontents.
Maybe tomorrow’s story with be: Reader Complains About Too Many Complaints????

Jeez if people are going to complain about something at least complain about the fact that the fourth amendment no longer exists. . . even if it seems like a non sequitur.

The sequel will be the complaint that IKEA got her the crib from another store, delivered the crib (possibly even made an accommodation on the shipping charges) but the crib isn’t as substantial/sturdy as the $2000. crib her friend has.
Or that the assembly instructions weren’t sufficiently grammatical.

Take a pill Sal. THAT diatribe took way longer to write than it took to read this semi-amusing story of more PS shenanigans and BS. I personally find it entertaining and I am happy GL weeds through all the insane, most retarded antics of PS’ers and posts them.
PS- Amazing! What a miserable, disgusting woman.
