Brooklyn Nibbles: Slope’s Ninth Street Going Atomic

September 3rd, 2008 · 8 Comments

Ninth Street is not only going atomic, but the space into which a new Atomic Wings will be moving has an interesting back story. A tipster emails with word of the new Atomic Wings outpost, noting that “they are putting an Atomic Wings on 9th Street, b/n 5th and 6th ave in park slope- next to the HSBC, in the space that was formerly a really crappy faux-french pastry shop that consolidated with its sister store, up next to Smiling Pizza.” The pastry shop in question was Delices de Paris (321 Ninth St. at Fifth Ave.) which was closed by a divorce battle and then reopened and also had some nasty problems last year with the Department of Health. Given that the wings are from a chain, we assume there will be less domestic drama with the new business.

Glad to see I wasn’t the only one thought Delices de P was crappy.

Yeah, thank goodness we replaced it with a chain that sells chicken wings. Good upgrade.

The pastries weren’t great, but it used to be the only non-dunkin coffee around.

I have to agree that the pastries were pretty bad but the coffee was incredible. Can’t wait to check out the wings.

the french bakery was excellent when first opened and then dropped of around the same time they had the MASSIVE problem with the DOH they will not be missed and my waist line is shaking as Atomic Wings are the best (I lived in Buffalo for 5 years) in NYC bonnies wings must be shaking because they are diner food compared to Atomic Wings quality
