Earlier this year, one of the better 99 Cent stores on Fifth Avenue in Park Slope closed its gates for good, another victim of rising rents on the southern end of the avenue. Now, we know what’s going into the space, which is next to the Washington Mutual branch on the block. A poster on Brooklynian reports that it will be a GameStop, marking the continued march of chains and bank branches on that stretch of Fifth Avenue. Earlier this year, a 7-Eleven opened across the street.
