The Carroll Gardens Neighborhood Association meeting tonight should be lively as, among other things, it will be covering two of the neighborhood’s favorite projects: 360 Smith Street and the proposed Toll Brothers residential development on the Gowanus Canal. Per an email:
Architect, John Hatheway will discuss the BSA case progress on 360 Smith Street/aka 131 Second Place/aka Oliver House. Architects, John Hatheway and Chris McVoy will be doing their Toll Bros presentation.
The meeting takes place at 7:30PM tonight at the Hannah Senesh Community Day School, 342 Smith St.

What is going on in that artist rendering? Since that building is to the right of (what I know to be) 4 story brownstones, what is that magical tall structure in the background doing besides making their building appear to be the same height as other’s around it? Is that the shadow of the Court & Sackett construction?

How about some discussion on all the money Toll has been paying out, $360,000, to our local city officials, cb, planning, and all, to get their zoning change.
Seems that the community, the NIMBY’s are just those without substancial control of funds to buy their way through government planning. But just where did the big funds driving these big developers origiate from? Who is holdong the bag on the past developments put up by these company–the community?
