The headline is only party in jest. We found these fliers for the Brooklyn Indie Designers Market, whcih is held on Smith Street in Carroll Gardens all over the place in Wiliamsburg this weekend. Trying to get some Artists and Fleas customers as the holidays approach? Hmmm?

Ha Ha Ha – not really – it was more about indie designers from all over Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and the Metro area will be descending on BIM this weekend to begin the holiday shopping season.

That Indie Market on Smith Street is interesting. It’s pretty much the same group of folks and they sell decent wares, but at some point it just seems dead and lacking variety. Maybe food or hot chocolate or hot cider or something?
It’s an admirable addition the neighborhood, but something about it doesn’t click the way the markets elsewhere do.

Lisa, yeah I think I bumped into them at the Brooklyn Flea where they had tables. They are a really cool bunch. I hear that Holiday Handmade Cavalcade they are having is gonna be BIG, I can’t wait to check that out.

I love the cupcakes at BIM.
It’s a quieter neighborhood, but still plenty of traffic and lots going on. Just not jumping up and down crazy like A&F in Willyburg
