The Child Life office at NYU, which provides toys and games to sick kids year round, is woefully underfunded and in need. If you haven’t already maxed out your holiday giving, this is a GREAT cause. You will get maximum impact for your effort, I promise! Wish List for Tisch Hospital Pediatric Acute Care Unit: Child Life Department. They also welcome checks. WISH LIST

1. Toys for babies: teethers, stackers, shape sorters, mobiles that mount on the side of a crib (preferably all plastic) and anything manipulative or musical

2. Game Cube, PS2 and X-BOX Games (not the actual machines, just the games, please)

3. Items for distraction in the treatment room (i.e. bubbles, slinkies, stickers, magic wands: (wands with liquid and sparkles, shapes, etc. inside)

4. Character Band Aids (Latex Free only, please!)

5. General Entertainment Fund for parties and special events

6. Teen gifts for Birthdays/special events (i.e. wallets, make-up kits, watches, etc)

7. Sony MZ-M100 kit (portable minidisc recorder, earphones, microphone, software& battery) to make music CDs for patients who want a keepsake of their music therapy work.

8. Earphones for televisions and boom boxes

9. Board books for our youngest readers.

10. Gift certificates for the following stores: Toys `R Us, K-Bee Toys, Target ( for general use toys which need to be replaced often, yet we do not have space to store long-term), Blockbuster, music and book stores (i.e. Borders, Sam Goody, Barnes & Noble)

11. Boom boxes: CD, Tape deck, AM/FM radio for patient rooms

12. Polaroid 600 Film

13. Batteries: AA’s, C’s, D’s – we use A LOT of batteries for toys, boom boxes, electric keyboard, etc

14. We have online wish lists with Amazon.com and Target.com, complete with shipping information. To locate wish lists, enter “Karen Popkin” and “9eastkids” for nickname/password.

17. Children’s audio CDs in Spanish

18. Snoezelin laminating machine.

19. Popular DVD’s for all ages (DVD titles in varying languages: Spanish, Italian, Chinese, etc. are also needed)
