The long-awaited (by some) Baluchi’s on Fifth Avenue, which has only taken about three years to open, is set to open (at least for carry out) on Thursday. We’re not yet clear on whether they will be open for full services. As of yesterday, the interior appeared to not quite be ready to accept customers. We’ve said it before and we’ve said it again: while Baluchi’s is not the be all and end all of Indian cuisine, it’s a definite step up from most of the bad Indian food currently available in the Slope. (Kinara delivery on a good night notwithstanding.)
