How to Report a Fire in Williamsburg

February 10th, 2009 · 1 Comment

Uh, let’s see. The call box is out of service. (Who looks for call boxes instead of calling 911 on their cell, anyway?) But what you do is, call 911 and say “I want to report a fire.” On the other hand, if it was a car crash, we suppose you would call and say “I want to report a car accident.” Or if someone was shot you would call and say, “Holy shit. Somebody just got shot right here in front of me. Holy shit!”

Actually, you have to tell 911 that you want to report a fire. The one time i called for my elderly neighbor, it seemed to me that they patched me through to someone else and I had to give the info all over again.
