Anybody that doubts that people don’t pay attention to school “report cards” and performance might want to reconsider. The photo of this flier comes, of course, from our Greenpoint Correspondent. The irony that it is front of the notoriously poorly-run and bedbug infested (if historic) Astral apartment building is not lost on us. Nor is the fact that the person that posted the flier, after saying he wants to rent an apartment, also offers money to “get an address in this neighborhood.“

why is he doing this now – didn’t do his homework before moving house?
The information that Greenpoint’s two schools were high performing and Williamsburg’s were not was already freely available before the grading.

actually PS 132 in Williamsburg is quite good. PS 17 also in Williamsburg has a 5 star math rating (the best) on insideschools.org and was rated higher than other brooklyn “good” schools like 321 and 29 in the recent DOE rating.
guy should try magnet schools like 34 in Greenpoint or charter schools or lottery schools or the gift and talented program.
