If you’re out buying books at the Park Slope Barnes & Noble (not that we’re endorsing it over Brooklyn’s indie bookstores) on Seventh Avenue, AmeriCorps members and people from the Reach Out and Read program, which is a literacy program sponsored by Lutheran Family Health Centers, are going to gift wrapping purchases there for donations all day today (12/17). The donations will be used to buy books for for the 13,000 low-income and new immigrant children that receive services through their community health centers. They’re also accepting donations.
