The Great Columbia Street Coverup

May 2nd, 2008 · 2 Comments

The great Columbia Street digging project, which has been going on since October, 2005, seems to be nearing an end. At least, the final wretchedly torn up stretch is being repaved. The project is finally slated to wrap up this spring. In the meantime, our Carroll Gardens correspondent reports another delightful episode of “Don’t Take Pictures” as this photo was being taken: “I was chased away by a construction worker! No shame! You would think this project would welcome some positive PR! He was actually yelling while waving his finger at me.”

Damn straight! It’s like going off-roading over there. Not sure if it had anything to do with closing my favorite bar on earth, but will the re-paving bring Lido back? Please?
