Back in October, a fence went up around Grand Ferry Park, a much loved little park at the foot of Grand Street on the East River. Until East River State Park opened last year, in fact, it was the only legitimate park access to the water in Williamsburg. The renovation process was supposed to take six month, which would have ended the work last month or this month. While it looks like a lot of progress has been made on the work, the work isn’t quite finished. While there more work to be done, it looks like a June reopening is not out of the question, meaning that the park will be there again for everyone to enjoy for the summer.

I hope they still allow dogs off leash. A dog run would be choice as well. Trying to get intouch with the parks dept to find out, but no answers so far….

they didn’t “allow” dogs off leash, they just didn’t enforce. you can be sure when the horrible New Domino goes up, this park, one of the best in brooklyn, will be ruined.

I’ve been practically holding my breath waiting for this park to reopen. It has been almost impossible to find out anything about it all along.
