From a GL reader come the following query: “The post office on 7th Avenue between 2nd and 3rd Streets has lost its sign. They already had the gate in the front window down when I passed since they had
closed several hours earlier. I could, however, see in the door and there certainly was no indication that anything catastrophic had happened. Are they getting a new sign, and if so, does that mean they’ll be cleaning up the interior? Or are they – for whatever unimaginable reason – (gasp!) closing this office?” Yes, they are getting a new sign, but we don’t know if they are cleaning the place up. (Our guess would be “no.”)
