This is a new store that will be opening on what we’ve called the Death Block on Seventh Avenue in Park Slope between Second and Third Streets because of there were four empty storefronts at one point this winter. The new addition will be Carmen’s Exclusives for Children. One’s point of view on this development will clearly be colored by one’s perspective on Slope kid’s culture and whether the neighborhood needs another pricey children’s store. The space housed a bookstore and most recently has been known for the art that the landlord has been placing in the window.

Well, back in the ’90s, this store was Suzy’s Circus, probably the original “pricey children’s store” in the Slope.
