Here’s a shot of yesterday’s Bastille Day activities (yes, a day early) on Smith Street, which included a Petanque-athon. McBrooklyn also has a post up about the event with nice pics.

    Just a note, that shot was taken on the corner of Smith & Degraw, where Provence on Boite was hosting it’s own, smaller Bastille Day event. It was much more chill than the Bar Tabac scene, with smaller, presumably all-local, petanque games, onlookers hanging on their stoops, kids in strollers, etc. Oh yeah, and good latin band, too (don’t ask me why, although there’s was some latin flavor at the Tabac one too).
