We saw the smoke from the big fire at 57 Lincoln Road in Prospect Lefferts Gardens last night in Williamsburg and knew without even seeing the news that there was very big somewhere. Here’s 7Online’s report, in part:
Nineteen people were injured in a multi-alarm fire in Brooklyn on Friday night. The fire started shortly before 6:00 at 57 Lincoln Road in the Lefferts Gardens section. The fifth alarm was struck around 6:45 p.m. and the sixth alarm followed a short time later. At the height of the fire, flames and heavy smoke could be seen pouring from the roof of the building.
The fire was brought under control around 8 with more than 250 firefighters on the scene. More than 40 families have been displaced. There’s a short AP story about it in the Post.
