The annual Hal Willner tribute show closed out the Celebrate Brooklyn season this weekend. This year’s subject was Bill Withers, who sat up front, and watched a lot of performers do his songs. Mr. Withers sang one song and went up on stage for the “Lean on Me” finale. There’s a full photoset of the festivities posted by janelerner on flickr.

Hi, I would like to know is Bill Withers is still performing publicly. I would love to watch him live. He’s inspired me so much with his songs like “just the 2 of us” and “you just can’t smile it away’. My biggest wish is to watch him live and possibly talk to him in person. Would you be able to help me out on that?
